The Mi-Si Align system features an active, battery-free preamp designed specifically to work with the L.R. Baggs undersaddle acoustic guitar pickup. The preamp for this system uses Mi-SiÕs custom piezo linearization scheme Ð allowing for the most truthful and accurate sound from the pickup.
Lets talk to elephant in the room, no battery and a 60 second charge?
As a musician I know that a 9 volt is as common as dirt until its 9pm and your band mate has his battery die on him, then they are as rare as giant diamonds. Along comes the Mi-Si Acoustic Pick up system. Let me be clear, I was skeptical but I am now a convert. Before the test below, the guitar had been play / tested then hung on the wall for weeks, another band practice session, hung on the wall for another few weeks and then played for another few hours and it still has plenty of go. I am impressed with how well it has performed. The battery charger fits neatly into the cavity of my guitar case so if I have to charge it, I can quickly plug it in for 60 seconds.

Response: I couldn't agree more, often the statements are marketing hype but this works exactly as stated..
How is the sound quality?
I played the guitar for hours and I felt the quality of sound was as good as the many other versions I have tried.

The Mi-Si Align system features an active, battery-free preamp designed specifically to work with the L.R. Baggs under saddle acoustic guitar pickup.
The preamp for this system uses Mi-SiÕs custom piezo linearization scheme allowing for the most truthful and accurate sound from the pickup. All you have to do is power up for 60 seconds using the Mi-Si Power Charger, providing you with up to 8 hours of performance time.
The Align is the single most flexible, compact and lightweight battery-free preamp currently manufactured. The board is much thinner than more traditional circuit boards that are 62ml thick. It comes standard with active bass, treble and volume controls and can be installed virtually anywhere within the instrument. For even greater flexibility in installation the board could be cut into three separate pieces, connected with wire jumpers. There are special pads provided on the board to solder these jumpers.
