Tel-Style Template
This template set is designed for making the standard solid body version of the Tel-Style guitar. We also have a Thinline version here. Making a guitar with this template set based on the most common Tel-Style shape will certainly be a lot easier and more accurate. We have sized the nut width on the standard neck and fretboard to 41.9mm which we call 42mm and include 21frets. The tuning machine spread is 122mm and the string spread at the bridge is 54mm or 10.8mm string to string. We also have 22 fret and 43mm nut alternatives:
- 42mm nut 21 fret neck (standard version)
- 42mm nut 22 fret neck
- 43mm nut 21 fret neck
- 43mm nut 22 fret neck
We offer a build sets (see below) for each of the above variants.
Please be aware that due to Fender's trademark on headstocks, this template set is provided with a paddle-style headstock.
The Build Sets include the following templates:
- Body (incl pickup cavities, control cavity)
- Neck (incl paddle style headstock) in the following options:

- Neck Pocket (incl a 0.3mm finish allowance)

These templates, like all our guitar templates, are made of 6mm clear acrylic, precision laser cut with router paths, etch lines, and keyholes for accurate measurements on your build.
Please be aware that our bolt-on (electric) neck pocket templates include a 0.3mm clearance to the neck to allow for finishing and the ability to correct any minor fitting/alignment issues. If you want to achieve a tighter-fitting neck, apply one or two layers of masking tape to the inside surface of the neck pocket template before you route the pocket.
Note: The dimensions of templates on this site are often created for accuracy based on original models however this is not the case in some templates and therefore we do not guarantee these templates to work with original parts. We also chose to design elements to be compatible across multiple models which means not all parts are exactly the same dimensions as the original guitar the templates were based on.
