Thinline Tel-Style Template
This template set is designed for making the Thinline version of the Tel-Style guitar with body cavities and an "F-hole". We anticipate that you will make this version with a body blank and a separate cap that is glued on after the body cavity routing is complete. Also we've incorporated a full-sized rear control cavity so you can opt for no pickguard if you like - just don't rout the cavity through the cap!! Here you will find the associated control cavity templates. Alternatively, you could rout a more conventional front control cavity and use a pickguard or install a control cavity with a recessed cover using this template set.
The full build set includes everything you need if you don't already have the regular Tel-Style build set. Or you can order the Thinline Body set that includes only the Thinline-specific templates (the first two items only in the list below).
Due to Fender's trademark on headstocks, this template set is provided with a paddle-style headstock.
The full Thinline Build Set includes the following templates:
- Body (body shape, rear control cavity, F-hole)
- Body Cavity (pickup cavities, body cavities, wiring track)
- Neck (42mm nut incl paddle-style headstock)
- Neck Pocket
- Fretboard 21 Fret 42mm Nut
- Pickguard - Note that this is our own version of a pickguard. Order it separately in the Pickguards Templates Collection here.
The Thinline Body set includes just the two body templates. All the other templates are common to the regular solid Tel-style so you can order individual templates there.

These templates, like all our guitar templates, are made of 6mm clear acrylic, precision laser cut with router paths, etch lines, and keyholes for accurate measurements on your build.
Please be aware that our bolt-on (electric) neck pocket templates include a 0.3mm clearance to the neck to allow for finishing and the ability to correct any minor fitting/alignment issues. If you want to achieve a tighter-fitting neck, apply one or two layers of masking tape to the inside surface of the neck pocket template before you route the pocket.

Note: The dimensions of templates on this site are often created for accuracy based on original models however this is not the case in some templates and therefore we do not guarantee these templates to work with original parts. We also chose to design elements to be compatible across multiple models which means not all parts are exactly the same dimensions as the original guitar the templates were based on.
